Cassie Haynes is the co-founder and former co-executive director of Resolve Philly, a nonprofit newsroom transforming local reporting through collaboration and community engagement. A leader in social innovation and media strategy, she has worked at the intersection of journalism, policy, and equity, advocating for more inclusive storytelling and sustainable news ecosystems.
With degrees in fine arts, public health, and law, Haynes, a 2024-25 Knight-Wallace Journalism Fellow, has held executive roles in government, startups, and sports governance. Her work has earned national recognition, including the Online News Association’s Impact Award and INN’s Nonprofit Leader of the Year.
Now a consultant and speaker, Haynes advises philanthropic institutions, investors, and media organizations on building more inclusive and resilient local media ecosystems. Her opinions and editorials have appeared in Popular Science, Nieman Lab, and The Philadelphia Inquirer. A Boston Marathoner and record-holding powerlifter, she lives in Ann Arbor, MI with her wife, daughter, and two dogs.
