Cassie Haynes is a strategist, leader, and facilitator, along with president of Plot Twist Consulting, where she supports philanthropic institutions, collaboratives, and mission-driven organizations in building infrastructure, deploying capital, and designing systems that reflect their values. Her work focuses on aligning vision with implementation—whether that means standing up a new funding vehicle, mapping an ecosystem, or reworking internal operations for greater clarity and sustainability.

Cassie is also the proud co-founder and former co-executive director of Resolve Philly, a nationally recognized nonprofit newsroom focused on collaborative, community-powered reporting. During her five years at Resolve, she helped raise over $10M, built the organization's operational backbone, and led its evolution from startup to anchor institution.

With a background in public health, law, and nonprofit leadership, Cassie brings cross-sector fluency to every engagement—and a belief that strategy only matters if it’s built to last. She is a 2024–25 Knight-Wallace Journalism Fellow and has held executive roles in government, startups, and national sport governance. Her work has been recognized with the Online News Association’s Impact Award and INN’s Nonprofit Leader of the Year. Her writing has appeared in Popular Science, Nieman Lab, and The Philadelphia Inquirer.

She lives in Ann Arbor, MI, with her wife, daughter, and two good dogs. She’s also a Boston Marathoner, a Brazilian jiujiteira, and a record-breaking powerlifter, which pretty much tells you what you need to know about her strength and stamina.
